lonewolf2 Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Gregg, I went to change my e-mail address and somehow got myself locked out so that I can't post anything. I couldn't even get into RoM. Anyway, I had to sign up again as lonewolf2 and use my wife's e-mail just to get back in to ask for help. I don't know if it's something I did wrong or if it's a result of the problems you ran into trying to do your clean-up. My regular sign in handle is "lonewolf". Let me know if you can fix this and I'll PM you my new e-mail address. See george53, your'e not the only stoopid one when it comes to computers. I rank right up there with ya, buddy.PLEASE LET ME BACK IN under my old handle.

You can change your email, your screen name, all kinds of things.
Clay Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Did you use the "My Controls" page to try and change your email? You can change your email, your screen name, all kinds of things. I dont see where you can change your screen name, I looked then asked Gregg to do it.
Harry P. Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 Since I'm a moderator, maybe I see more choices than "regular" members see. If that's the case, sorry for the misinformation. I didn't even think of that... that maybe only moderators get to see certain options.

Jairus Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 This forum software is weird. If you change your email address then the system locks you out. It is something weird with the software and it happens 100%. Just email Gregg and he only needs to open your parameters and click the check box that you are OK! All other stuff can be changed at will with no problems.
lonewolf2 Posted October 30, 2008 Author Posted October 30, 2008 Thanks for your responses guys. I went into my controls and did everything as instructed. Just like Jairus said, wnen I changed my e-mail address, it locked me out. Oh Gregg, you got a PM.
Gregg Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 If I get two PM, do I have PMS? I think the email validation is all set. Yes, it's weird, but it's just like me: so loveable :-)
lonewolf Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks Gregg. Everything seems to be working fine now. I hope you're not suffering from PMS, as most people from my experience aren't much fun to be around when they are.
billd64 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 as a former windows NT ADMIN, let me say and hopefully make it simply the system gives any applicant a generic set of "privledges" admins, the owner, and moderators have the advanced controls shown to them, and only them, and that happens at the dicreation of the powers to be. every one is granted or denied privledges, similar to life, skill, and trust and duration obviously reward you with the ability to be a moderator, which at that point you have more controls then the generic person. the system has to approve changes, and if it doesnt, you are locked out of your access's under new name till it is recognized and connected to you hope this expalins "geek" bill you are right, we have the "my controls" spot. all he needs to do is click on it at the top right side. go in there, scroll down to the bottom left and find it in the list of OPTIONS....
