Avenger Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Man Carroll Shelby hes like hundred years old he is still making cars that going to be a slam on Ford with there mustang. What I've heard is that Ford is going to stop making mustangs in 2009. But the should make a racing sport that has only chargers corvettes mustangd cobras, all that good stuff in it.
84vanagon Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 As far as I know the Mustangs are still on. The current body style will run through '09, with a new Mustang in 2010.
James Flowers Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) Why would they stop making the Mustang ? Edited October 30, 2008 by mustanglover1951
ericmaxman Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 The Mustang is an American Icon and I highly doubt the Ford will cease its production.
The Creative Explorer Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Ford really don't continue to make a model that is a icon but sells quite poor. Especially in the present situation. However, the Mustang is selling beyond expectation and there is just no reason to stop production as it is one of the few models within their range that actually makes some money. But for the 2010 they are thinking of downsizing the engines. Smaller V6 engines with or without turbo's are mentioned.
gasman Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 It sounds more and more likely that the Mustang will get the new 2.5l 4cyl. with an optional turbo. the V6 could also get a turbo. but thats kinda doubtful since it would make the turbo V6 more powerful then the upcoming 5.0l V8 that the Mustang will get.

Zoom Zoom Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 If you like model cars you should naturally like cars. If you like cars you should consider reading any of the automotive blogs (like Autoblog, Jalopnik, Edmunds Inside Line, The Winding Road, etc.) to keep up with what's new and what's happening (the blogs make traditional magazines obsolete; the information in them is old by the time it hits the newsstand), and if you did read blogs / magazines you would already know that there is a refreshed 2010 Mustang with a new look that will debut to the public in a few weeks; at the rate that new cars hit the web it could happen as early as this week or next week. The car officially debuts in person at the LA Auto Show in late November. Ford has been leaking detail photos of the car, and there are tons of spy shots of them in camouflage. The '09 model year will be shortened only because they'll be making '10 Mustangs early next year. 2010 Mustang
conor1148 Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) i hate to sound like a flamer but do some research before you try to spread stupid rumors. carrol shelby has been making "new gt500s" for two years now.. nothing new to me. also there is no way in hell a good selling car, a AMERICAN ICON practically, could just die in a year or two. i doubt it will die even in 20 years.
