Long time auto builder, but I have built very few big rigs. I want to pick up the reissued AMT Haulaway trailer, but I can't decide what to pull it with. I know that AMT got into the truck business in the early 70s and most of their trucks were contemporary when they were introduced. I would like something older though, maybe 1964-68 vintage or earlier. I know that with a few modifications the Ford C-series can be backdated to the late 1950s, but what else is on the market that could play the part? One of the Macks? I *think* that the R685 could pass for a 1966, including the kit engine?

I build resin, I am not afraid of resin, but I really don't want resin for this project unless I have no other choice.

Thanks guys!
