Pete J. Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I recall that there was some discussion a while back on the Hasagawa photo etched rim set for the 250TR. It seems that there is an error in the instruction sheet and some of the frets need to be flipped to get the right pattern for the Borrani wheels. If assembled per the instructions you get spokes with uneven spacing. They should be evenly spaced. Now since there are 5 different frets that gives you 120 combinations. I really don't want to go through that if some one out there has the answer. Thanks. Pete J.
John E. Bowers Jr. Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Pete, this question kinda scares me because I have an order in for this same set of wheels... I hope you (we) can get an answer to this potential problem.
JHDrew Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I put one wheel together as a test and didn't see a problem. Perhaps there is a problem with half of them but I don't see it in the one I did.
Zoom Zoom Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I've built them and didn't find any errors on their part. Because of the orientation of the parts and the layering sequence, it's best to build them one at a time, and this includes cutting each layer from the fret one at a time, or at a minimum cutting them out and placing them in the same numbered sequence as they were on the fret. They're easy to get mixed up and if that happens you will have spacing problems. Once the spokes are all in place you can carefully clamp the inner/outer wheel halves together and glue them. Be careful with clamping so you don't damage the edge of the rims. After the first wheel is done the rest are easier.
