Recently the below animal tested my nerves with knocking a model into paint thinner that i rescued quickly, and was fortunate that it only ruined testors white, and not plastic, as it was sealed with Vari-PRime primer from Dupont....

my credibility was tested about this, think these pictures prove cat likes the spray booth??

any suggestions about how to paint a cat? yes he is testing his nine lives

but my son loves him...... yes he is an acquired indepent taste :P

I have 2 cats and neither one of them hang out at my work bench. Typically because I cant even get to my bench. And plus they dont go in the garage. But if they did both of them would be in my lap or on the desk itself

My wife's cats like to carry model parts, especially tires, away in their mouths  . Now, I keep them out of my area with a closed door when I'm not around.

I do let them in when I build if I am not spraying. Sometimes they get brave and jump up on my things :P , but they hardly do that anymore because I chase them away with a squirt bottle of water or a loud pssst, pssst sound,(or a hiss/spray combo) :P and that gets the dog to come to my aid and chase them upstairs  , across the slippery linoleum :D to the other end of the house, under our bed to safety :lol: It's a really good time that helps to break up my long nights of building and also helps to keep the critters in shape;)

what keeps my cat away from the spray paint booth is the sound of the compressor kicking in

Same here! I have mine trained as soon as they see me reach for the start switch------they're off and runnin'!

One thing that works wonders on nosy cats to keep them off of stuff is masking tape..................you gotta leave the sticky side up!

That'll keep 'em away once they get their paws on it, and it's a riot to see them try to get it off! :P

I think the white primer is still showing on the chassis but the color scheme on top looks great! it totally looks like a real cat.

My cat, Toast, well I found her In the trunk of a car I was having crushed at the recycler's, hence the name Toast, anyway she has a thing about plastic bag's, like's to chew on the corner's , take them and hide them, an whatever may be inside them, become's a cat's chew toy, love's to play with the tire's, of any kit I happen to leave on the floor, and like's to sit there at my feet, when I'm in the hobbie room, with no door of course, and meow at me till I yell at here to get out. and my dog Missy just lies their with the look in her eyes, (ya had to save her didnt ya).

Cats sure are curious little buggers. I have 2 and one that likes to sneak into my hobbie room.

I don't like leaving my door closed all day so I put up a screen door (yup).

It's actually a patio door screen that fits the opening and I put little hinges on it.

It may not look great but it works, the cats like to climb on Everything.

This way the cats stay out except when I don't latch it and one cat can pull my door open.

It's spooky how much that cat resembles one of ours that passed away a couple of years ago. A perfect twin! He was the best, most perfect pet I have ever had too. Our three cats and two dogs (sometimes more as we do Foster Dog care) leave my stuff alone. Knock on wood!! They know who the boss is I guess. (not me...)

You'll need a tough finish to stay on the little beggar. I would go with a two-part paint system - definitely a CATalyzed clearcoat......;)
