TonyK Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Started this last winter since I didn't need to paint the body. Took me this long to finish it because I worked on it off and on without much enthusiasm. I mainly posted it to tell fellow builders it's not that great of a kit. Maybe someone else enjoyed it more. Body doesn't fit well at all and you have to line up pieces that fit onto it and drill your own holes. Decals went on well.
Elmer Fudd Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Well, it's an iconic race car. Don took it to England in 1964. It was Top Eliminator at the U.S. Nationals in 1964 and before he retired it, he popped in the new 426 Hemi. For all those reasons, i'd love to take it for a test drive and i'd put up with some of the flaws inherent in a 55-year old model kit. But if everyone though the same as me, what a boring world it would be! 1
dragcarz Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 Looks great to me! The kit is very accurate for being produced so long ago. You did a great job on it. I painted mine, and I have a few of these kits, I might try to do a clear body version.
