RadRidesByDan Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Started with the Revell Road Runner and ended with this. Went with the 502 BB, 6-71 blower, Metal cast air trapper, and the rest is simply detailing. Raised the rear 3 scale inches and painted it GM metallic black. I know you MOPAR fans are going to roll in your graves but I needed the HP
Raul_Perez Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Very nice paint and detail work!! Thanks for sharing,
george 53 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Dan, you say rollin in their graves? How about dancin on yours? You pretnear dun comitted sacrolidge! I don't mind ,caz I'm partial to BBC's, BUT a well built Mope'll give a good HP numbers ANY day! Do like the sneekyness of it all though!
Nick F40 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 SWEEEET, now this I like, I like it better then the Charger! The detail is perfect for me and the wheels/tires and stance...oh man Now all you need to do is make it do a wheelie WHILE burning out.
ChevyFan Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Sweet looking ride you got there. The detailing is brilliant. Where's the driver hiding in the brake light photo? Cos someone must have their foot on the brakes for them to be that bright.
62SS Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Awesome Road Runner!! That paint job is unbelievable. What paint is it? Great job as usual Dan. Thanks for sharing it with us. Ed

Dragon7665 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 To quote some of my F&F Idiot Customers I had when the first movie came out! "Dude does that thing have NOS??? NOS would make it super fast, you should add some!!!" Whoa I think I felt my IQ dip a bit writting that LOL Nice Build!

Peter Lombardo Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Dan, I don’t know how I missed this post before…very nice. Personally, I don’t care which engine is in a car. As long as it looks good, that is all that matters. I think we get a little too hung up with dotting every I and crossing every tee. These are “modelsâ€â€¦they are not real. They are for our enjoyment. If you want to install a VW 4 banger in a Roadrunner, so what. Anyway, very nice build and beautiful paint, no not beautiful paint, perfect paint. My only comment would be that I would have liked to see a little more chrome trim, like the door handles (since you did not shave them) and the vent windows. Around the tail light area and the letters for Plymouth on the back panel, but that is just me…either shave them or foil them. Still, it is a beautiful street runner…great job.
old-hermit Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Ya nailed it Dan. Perfect stance and paint. Love the BBC.
Frank Steffens Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 As soon as I saw the author and the subject I knew this one would be killer...and I was right! Great work Dan!

Thanks to all for the great comments. Very appreciated As for teh BMF on the window trim and vent windows....I originally had put it on but it took away the look of the paint.... I dont know if its because the car is black on black with little chrome....it just didnt jive, so I took it off and left it mono color and left minimal chrome. It just makes you focus on the shine instead
Spike Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 dang that thing is awsome it makes me want to go get one and make the road runner that shows up at the end of the 3rd movie look up the car called HAMMER built by pure vision
