Straightliner59 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 As I recall, there were a few MPC kits, back in the '70s that had LT-1 hood "scoops" that were molded as separate items. Am I all wet, here? I'm asking, because I want to do one of my Vega promos as a Motion Performance-inspired car. Does anyone do a resin one? Obviously, I could cut one from one of Revell's Corvettes, but, I would rather not. Thanks for any help!
Mark Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 I remember them being in the Vega annual kits from '74 on. Maybe see if you can scare one up in a box of leftover parts from someone who built the kit without it.

Which begs the question: What the heck did I do with the one in mine?! I'll have to dig through my parts boxes, I guess. I'm sure that's something I wouldn't have got rid of.
Deuces ll Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) Are you sure it's the LT-1 and not the L-88 scooped hood???... I believe AMT or MPC came out with a '70 and a '71 Vette with the LT-1 hood.... I'm not sure about the '72 version.... Edited August 30, 2020 by Deuces ll

Deuces ll Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 In that case, the '68 Revell Vette kit and the Baldwin '69 Camaro kit have that hood.....
