cobraman Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 This is a sill pic from the Elvis movie Spinout . I know he drove a Cobra in the movie but this is not a Cobra . Anyone know what it is ?
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 (edited) If memory serves, it's a modified (most notably the rear wheel arches were opened up, and rollbar and windshield added to look more like a Cobra) fiberglass Microplas Mistral kit-car body (on who knows what chassis). Originating in England, licensed spinoffs were made and sold in sunny California by Bud Goodwin's Sports Car Engineering as a "Spyder". Goodwin later went on to found Fiberfab. Another version of the Mistral was made in Cali by Track Kraft as the TK-102. Edited September 16, 2020 by Ace-Garageguy
Rob Hall Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I watched this movie last year and googled it then, it was a Mistral kit car body on an Austin-Healey chassis. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hemmings.com/stories/2010/11/03/spinout-slipup-what-car-stood-in-for-the-wet-cobra/amp
