ismaelg Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 (edited) Hello, Due to a recent Grail score, I'm pushing away all car models for now. I'll be active in the forum as usual, but my workbench will be dedicated to this: 1968 Aurora 1/72 AH-56 Cheyenne helicopter. A crude kit but, since when I like it easy? Which with a LOT of scratchbulding, I hope to end up looking like this: You can see my non-automotive models in the "My personal models page" link in my signature... You can now return to our regularly scheduled program, already in progress Thanks, Edited November 7, 2008 by ismaelg
Mr. Can Am Garage Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 You're a modeler after my own heart Izzy! I wasn't aware there was a model of the Cheyenne.
george 53 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Other than cars, A-4's and Cobra gunships are my personal favorites. Definately gonna follow you on this. And 72nd is really small too! You gonna need your Opti-Loops!Good Luck, this'll be verrrrry Innnnterrrrestink!
Nick F40 Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Other then the usualu subjects i'm into, I like gunships, jets, WWII fighter planes, helicopters, and this one was always one I thought was just plain cool
Dave McFly Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 neat 'chopah' there izzy i RARELY dabble in military kits i did a few jets, mostly F series jets F14, F15, F18 etc. I mostly do sci fi models from star trek and star wars
Modelmartin Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I like rotary wing aircraft too. At one point I had almost 75 different 1/72 Helicopter kits. I got rid of them when I decided to focus only on cars. There is too much cool stuff out there! Andy
HotRodaSaurus Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Is it for building or collecting? As someone who started modeling military vehicles of all kinds there is never a problem with these kinds of interest. Unfortunately quite a few military modelers I have met seem to look down their noses at us car guys. I experienced this when visiting a show put on by the (I hope I get this correct)International Plastic Scale Modelers club(or a similar name). When I asked where the car/transport table were the guy I spoke to said, and I quote, "On the little table over there" said in a very demeaning manner. Well I love planes, copters, ships, tanks and just about anything made of plastic that needs glue. My favourite copter is the one from M.A.S.H. , dont know what its spec is but it typifies the era. John

John The M*A*S*H helicopter is the Bell model 47. It has an indian name but I can't never remember it.
kurth Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Wow ... where did you find one of those? Nice Score. I can not wait to see what you do with it.
ismaelg Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 The M*A*S*H helicopter is the Bell model 47. It has an indian name but I can't never remember it. You are right, The MASH helicopter is a Bell 47 and it was initially designated H-13 Sioux. I have one started in 1/35 scale..... I'll soon start a thread on the Cheyenne in the ARC forum. I'll keep you posted on the link. Thanks,
bigphoto Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Very cool score Izzy. My Fave chopper is the Huey D/H model also the Bell 47/H-13 has a special place in my heart as I have about 5-7 min. of stick time in one when I thought about going for a helo license (BTW I didn't go for it as the cost was prohibitive)
ismaelg Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Helo, If anyone is interested, I just started a thread on this build in the ARC helicopter forum. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=169191 Thanks,
