Mike Chernecki Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 (edited) Lately I have seen BMW Mini Cooper headlights used on alot of street rods. Does anyone know if a resin caster is doing a set of these? I am assumming the only mini kits out there are high priced Fujimi kits. Not something I would consider spending to steal the headlights from. Thanks Edited November 13, 2008 by Mike Chernecki

Mike Chernecki Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...p;hl=Headlights Thanks Rob, I have used MV lenses many times in the past, awesome stuff. But I wasn't too clear in my post,I have corrected my original post. I was looking for BMW Mini Cooper headlight assemblies. Thanks
Zoom Zoom Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I don't have any extras, but there are still some cheap Revell Minis out there if you look hard enough, and IIRC the Fujimi Minis come with two sets; one set "normal", one set w/washer (slight bump in the bezel and notch in the lense). Therefore it's conceivable that someone out there who has built the Fujimi has an extra set.
Dragon7665 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 LOL No Worries Mike, I thought that seemed a bit too easy Just to throw an idea out there, since the majority of the kits are 1/24th scale, why not use a cheap but decent display diecast, like a Maisto DYI Diecast Kit???? Since it's already apart like a kit, you can use its Headlights to make Resin/Silicone Rubber Molds of them, then Cast Clear Epoxy/Resin copies of them, to use in as many kits as you deem fit.... Once done, if the Diecast Kit lights are still salvagable, you can put them back on the model so you can display it, or relist it on Flea-Bey/Trade it off....

Thanks Bob, I will keep an eye out for the Revell kit or try to find one of those extras from the Fujimi kit. Mike
VW Dave Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I just happen to have a Fujimi new Mini model, and it does have 2 sets of chrome housings & lenses....even if I do get around to building that model, I won't need both sets. Email me and I'll see what I can do, Mike.
