Geartech Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 Like many of you I started as a pre-teen building pretty much any model I could get my hands on, hacking kits together and adding stuff like brake lines and whatever else I could using whatever I could get my hands on that looked the part. As I got older and I got into military aircraft and some cars. When I got working with Porsche North America I started pretty much focusing on that particular line of cars and mostly their race cars as I've built a few in real life. 1/24 stuff is getting hard for me to detail out and my hands don't have that kind of dexterity any longer but I've been trying and some of the problems I have are down to tools and tricks to make some of that really small photo etch stuff. Hi to Joey from Leeds Al, I moved from Alabama to Montana in April where I worked at the Porsche dealer just outside of Leeds. My latest project is a Tamiya 956 with the engine detail and a 1/12 Tamiya 935 that I'm desperately looking for a photo etch kit for as the only one I can find is in Belgium and claimed shipping is 3-10 weeks. I'm thinking it might be better to buy one of the new 935 kits that comes with the PE and put the other away as its an original release model that I got really cheap and I'm seeing the originals listed for crazy money.

Erik Smith Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Welcome. I went to college up the road from Victor, U of M. My grandma grew up in Corvallis. I spent quite a bit of time in the Bitteroots 25 years ago.
Straightliner59 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Welcome! I grew up in Montana. First Browning, then went to high school out on the plains, in Glendive. That's where I first started building. You know, long winters, and all. ?
