I'm trying to convert a Galaxie to a Starliner.  I'm using all the parts needed from a 60 Starliner to build it.  Here are some pics of what I've done so far.  I forgot to take a pic of the Galaxies roof before I removed it but you can see the difference in how it looks.  I've also opened the hood for the engine.  I mixed Silver Blue with Safire Blue for the color.

Cool project. I purchased a 61 Galaxie for the purpose of doing the same conversion. I was inspired by a 62 Starliner with Cammer power that appeared in Hot Rod magazine in the early/mid-eighties, which at the time I thought was about the coolest street cat I had seen.

Anyway, I'll be following your progress.

The roof design that Ford used on the Starliner models was one of the best looking designs of the time.

If it was the red 61 I saw it a few years ago in person at the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY. As I was walking it idled past me smooth as silk.  When I saw it parked a few minutes later with the hood open I coudn't hardly believe it was a Cammer! Super clean build!

What a cool project. I've been poking for an original '61 Starliner, and they're not common, and expensive.

The conversion doesn't look all too tough. I might give this a try, as I have a spare '61 and a spare '60.

Thanks guys.  Charlie, it's harder than it looks fer sure.  I hope you have a lot of patience.  Good luck if you go ahead with the conversion.
