59 Impala
I'm trying to convert a Galaxie to a Starliner. I'm using all the parts needed from a 60 Starliner to build it. Here are some pics of what I've done so far. I forgot to take a pic of the Galaxies roof before I removed it but you can see the difference in how it looks. I've also opened the hood for the engine. I mixed Silver Blue with Safire Blue for the color.
Bainford
Cool project. I purchased a 61 Galaxie for the purpose of doing the same conversion. I was inspired by a 62 Starliner with Cammer power that appeared in Hot Rod magazine in the early/mid-eighties, which at the time I thought was about the coolest street cat I had seen. Anyway, I'll be following your progress.
59 Impala
Thanks Trevor, I've always liked the 61 Starliner. I thought that it is a real good looking car.
espo
The roof design that Ford used on the Starliner models was one of the best looking designs of the time.

When I saw it parked a few minutes later with the hood open I coudn't hardly believe it was a Cammer! Super clean build!

charlie8575
What a cool project. I've been poking for an original '61 Starliner, and they're not common, and expensive. The conversion doesn't look all too tough. I might give this a try, as I have a spare '61 and a spare '60. Charlie Larkin
