Hi guys,

My model club are starting a lockdown group build of basic OOB builds, I have chosen as my contribution the Fujimi Fiat Barchetta kit... as it is a pretty basic with no opening parts of engine detail.

I figured I would go with the orange finish as per the box art... it will be my first 2021 build. Parts have been washed and I will make a start now.

Never thought i'd see someone else build this kit!,i started a rebuild on mine a few weeks ago,the windshield busted off and i couldn't fix it,so mine is going to look like some type of speedster.

I seem to remember mine going together nicely with no issues

Cheers guys,

I had a mix up with the paints and ordered Metallic Orange which turned out more bronze than I wanted... new paint arrived today. I will be using Tamiya LP paints on this build. There is alarmingly very few parts to this kit but as it is part of a 'back to basics' build that is fine... however, it is hard to resist the urge to add details here and there.

I love the looks of this car as well, and have never seen one built before. To me, you are pretty lucky to have one...they can be hard to find here in the U.S., and they ALWAYS have the high price tag of $150+     Thanks for sharing this with us!...i will be following!!

I love it's looks also... I only paid about £20 ($27) but that was maybe 2 years ago...

As I said this is quite a basic kit an so have completed build sequence 1 to 5.... the underside of the chassis and suspension... I couldn't resist a sneak a look at it with the (unpainted) body attached...

Oops... somehow the little body lends itself to a speedster... I look forward to seeing that.

Built this one a couple of years back also in Tamiya Orange but also did some interior accents in orange to escape the black hole look of a dark interior. You'll enjoy the build, it's so nice when a kit doesn't fight you and most of the Fujimi kits are that way. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Looks like a decent little kit, and cool work on the chassis.

Looks like it comes with some old Fujimi Pirelli tires with a little too much sidewall, but they fill the wells okay.

I like that little turn vise thing you have.

Thanks.... I will add the some orange accents as well... for the purpose of the build I have to keep it basic... I would otherwise maybe add flock and maybe orange seatbelts etc... but not this time.

Glad you like it... have to keep it simple but a bit of dry brushing lifts it nicely... the jig is typically for holding electronic circuit boards when soldering but seen other builder's using them... it has proved a useful addition to my tools.

If you've used Tamiya acrylics for the rear lenses, it should be easy enough to remove it, 99% alcohol should work.

I think a wheel swap is in order the stock wheels are ugly!!

Can't.... it is part of a club build, it has to be out of the box, no aftermarket or PE added.
