Greetings,

I've started building the Beebe Bros. Dodge Fever Challenger. I'm using the Johann Challenger kit and today I was working on the body and realized the kit I have doesn't have the front chrome bumper! Help. Anyone out there have a chrome front bumper the this build they can spare. Let me know.

If it's there it should be on the chrome sprue.
On the real car the front bumper was most likely a fiberglass copy painted to look like chrome and not a steel chrome plated piece.

But if you can't find one you can do the car without it because on most pictures I have seen of the Beebe Bros car it did not have a front bumper.

You would be correct this FC did not have a front bumper !!

Well I have seen the Beebe Bros car both with and without the bumper and here is a picture with bumper.

But it was most likely hard to get to stay on the car, or broke, so they took it away.

You got my attention because I have this kit and consider the car by far the most attractive of the Challenger funny cars. If I ever build the thing, I'll be doing this car too. Model on and post pics of your progress! B)

Hey Guys...thanks!

I did see those photos but didn't look closely. And you are correct...they ran the car without a bumper. I may build it just like that.

Again thanks for everyone's contribution.

Hi Jerry!

Funny you should ask, because I'm currently building this kit too. Mine is the '70 Ram-Rod version (post Gene Snow licensing deal). You are right: it's easy to loose the front bumper, cause most builders did not glue it. Actually, the flash in the front panel slots held the bumper tabs in place reasonnably well, so that may be why most skipped glue. Mine was still in the bag of parts that came with the kit. No trace of glue in the usual spots.

This is a great kit: the panel tolerances on the inside shrouds and bulkhead is incredible for a kit of this era. The only snafu I noticed in the instruction is the rear disc brakes/hubs must be mounted in such a way that the brake discs sit under the brake calipers, not against the rear wheel flanges as instructed...

Good luck with your search. If I see one, I'll get back to you!
