Dave Ambrose Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 My wife came in with the news. We lost Chick Corea. I know at least a couple of us here were fans. He was an innovator, and all these years later, his music still sounds good. Glad I got to see him in concert. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/chick-corea-obit-1127283
1972coronet Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I just read that news... A friend of mine is a big fan of Chick's works ; I'm only familiar with his co-op with Miles Davis' "later" ( late 60's , ad seq. ) works , though I have heard many of his pieces . A tremendous talent . The Mad Hatter Rhapsody - YouTube
Snake45 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 I know the name but am not that familiar with his music. I do know he played on at least one song on Warren Zevon's Transverse City album. Anyone who worked with Zevon is okay with me.
iamsuperdan Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Not a huge fan of the music, but I have huge respect for his talent.
Dragline Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Big fan of Chick. Jazz fusion owes a debt to him. A great loss to Jazz and music.
