Huge obnoxious ads

Since yesterday, the Ads are huge, in that it takes forever to scroll through a thread.  I feel like this just happened, and has not been the norm. What gives?  I expect ads if I am not signed in, but I am registered and signed in.

Ads show up for everyone. Doesn't matter if you are registered or not. The ads continually find ways around the constraints we put on them. It is an ongoing game of Us vs. Them.

Michael, am I correct in assuming the ad company gets paid by how many kliks the ad gets and even a klik to close the ad counts toward their payment?

It's the only reason I can come up with that they keep putting ads in places they know the users obviously have no interest in the product or service in the ad.

I am assuming they get paid for how many times it shows up as well. Probably get extra if someone clicks it. Dave spends a lot of time tweaking the ads. The ad companies do everything possible to to circumvent the filters. That is how inappropriate ads sometimes make it through.

The stupid Japanese mouth apparatus and earwax removal technique are ads that are extremely annoying as you know what!
