Jimmy Wilson Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Does anyone have any information on Chuck Mier? I haven't seen anything on eBay from him in quite a while.
Casey Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Did you try contacting him at the e-mail shown on the website? Seems to be off and on with regards to eBay, but that might just be normal for him. ?♂️
Jimmy Wilson Posted February 14, 2021 Author Posted February 14, 2021 Thanks for the suggestion Casey. I had actually texted him and e-mailed. We had corresponded a while ago. I haven't heard back and was concerned. I was curious if anyone in the group might have more insight.
Jimmy Wilson Posted February 18, 2021 Author Posted February 18, 2021 (edited) I finally received an email from Chuck. He told me he has been in hospitals since September 8th. Went in for surgery and caught COVID in the rehab facility. He said he had been placed on a ventilator and it affected many parts of his vital organs. He is recovering, and said it took him two days to remember how to use his phone. Try and keep a good thought for Chuck, as he is a great guy. He befriended me after a few purchases and he produces quality work. He stated it will be a few months till he gets back in the workshop. I know I'll be looking forward to that and being able to purchase some more of his products. Edited February 20, 2021 by Jimmy Wilson
MeatMan Posted February 18, 2021 Posted February 18, 2021 Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware he was having problems. I bought the Maz Austin and was planning on getting another. I wish him well.
iBorg Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 A sad update. Chuck apparently passed away in November 2023. A good guy and one of the folks that helped modelers in an era when the manufacturers were not repopping kits.
