BIGTRUCK Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 I came across this kit hidden on a shelf and then remembered there was 2 in the box. I pulled out all the distressed parts to try and bring this odd roofed kit back . Need to clean up glue marks and repair a hole then figure out what to do with it. Kit is 1:32. Original price .79 cents.
BIGTRUCK Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 Body repairs made with epoxy and bits of plastic, light skim coat of Tamiya putty then bring back the hood line.
Ralph Henderson Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 How cool is that!!?? I'll be watching! good work so far!
BIGTRUCK Posted May 5, 2021 Author Posted May 5, 2021 So...spending way to much time on this but I cant let it go. The brittle windshield frame needed to be beefed up, it was in 3 pieces, broken in the middle and twice on the bottom. The normal XJ 120 headlights I had but the Hellcat version lamps were bigger and hooded on top. Made something close out of evergreen tube with epoxy lenses. The seat material is extra from the Revell 66 suburban. Found some tiny red rear lights as the kits lights are just bumps molded in. Hood scoop is a Johan item. Side pipes will be parts box also. Doing things this way leaves me my 2nd Aurora Jag Hellcat complete . Now the roof I'm not sure if I need to leave it black or black but the wings painted body color or completely painted body color but it needs to be on. Decals will be a combo of Monogram Fire-bolt and Slingshot kits , and then start the bare metal foil. Long way to go yet.
geemoney Posted May 6, 2021 Posted May 6, 2021 so very neat, i must admit i came here expecting a gen III hemi-swapped XKE
