porschercr Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 (edited) Just bought this product, and have a question. I noticed in user demo videos it's water wash-up. So, in theory a primer or paint of either enamel or lacquer could have an adverse effect, No? Edited July 1, 2021 by porschercr
NOBLNG Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 I jut did a little test. All of these puttys have been dried for months. I wetted a Q-tip in laquer thinner and was able to soften all three. The perfect putty was most affected, Squadron the least. Then I tried plain water. The perfect putty was again softened, the Tamiya and Squadron were not. Aside from that, the Tamiya putty is very fine, but seems to shrink the most. The Squadron and perfect don’t shrink as much. The squadron is the most durable I find, but it is a bit grainy and not as smooth as the others. YMMV.
porschercr Posted July 1, 2021 Author Posted July 1, 2021 Thanks Greg, So it looks as though an acrylic primer/paint is best.(?) Trevor
Mark Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Why not just apply all of the putties to a junk body, and do a test to see which option is best with your go-to primers and paints?
