Farmer Wilding Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Here's the first model I've shown here. Normally I build factory stock, but I wanted to do something different. It's AMT's old '69 Corvair, painted Tamiya Candy Lime Green over gold, and built with the full race engine and aluminium mufflers on the headers.

Um - I tried to do multiple pics, but only one appeared?

george 53 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Wow, Pete, that sure came out NICE! The engine, paint, heck, the whole thing looks GREAT! I gotta agree with Led, Me LIKEY TOO!!!
Bernard Kron Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Nice comtemporary take on this sleek design. I like the airdam and flaps/scoops and the choice of wheels. Looks great.
rv1963 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Great work on your Corvair i really love the color.
RatRod Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 That is bad ass!!! That candy green is getting to be my new favorite color!!! So where did those awesome tri-rib wheels come from?
Farmer Wilding Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 That is bad ass!!! That candy green is getting to be my new favorite color!!! So where did those awesome tri-rib wheels come from? They came from the latest release of AMT/RCwho's '66 Galaxie, the "Resto Rods" one with the aqua car on the box. The box art shows the wheels in a dull metallic (magnesium?) finish, but in the kit they're actually chromed.
KENNEDYJR Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Very tasty Corvair! I dig those Radir wheels, excellent build.
Peter Lombardo Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Nice take on a car that we don't see very often anymore. I always thought the second generation Covair was one of the best looking cars to come out of an American design studio in the 60's. You gave it a nice update with a sharp attention getting color. Very nice and welcome aboard.
Thor Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Great choice of car, always liked this design. Good work.
DR Dubois Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Yah!!!!! You took that thing way over into the coolness! Looks great, thanx for postin'er.
