carsntrucks4you Posted September 5, 2021 Author Posted September 5, 2021 This car is a 1952 Studebaker Z-87 or Porsche Type 542. Sudebake had asked Porsche to designe a 4 Door car for them. The first concept was in principle a 4 door Porsche 356, But Studebaker rejected it. They wanted a bigger front engined car. Porsche presented the Type 542 or Z-87 to Studebaker but the rejected this proposal as well. sjordan2 Posted September 6, 2021 Posted September 6, 2021 (edited) Hmmmph. I Googled variations on Porsche 356 4-door and it didn't show up. On the other hand, the hubcaps should have revealed a Studebaker connection. Edited September 6, 2021 by sjordan2
