Zippi Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I build 1/25 scale and my grandkids say they are to small. They showed me a 1/18 scale 1957 Chevy Gasser and a 1941 Willys Gasser by Acme online. They looked pretty kewl. I have a few questions. Is Acme a good brand for diecast models, do these models need to be assembled or do the come pre assembled, and where is a good place to my 1/18 scale models so it doesn't brake the bank. Thanks for the help.
Chevythunder85 Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 Acme is a very detailed brand! they usually run just above 100.00! A good place to shop is either diecastmodelswholesale.com, or supercar1.com! Ebay is kind of ok depending on the brand and who is selling them. Maisto is a great starter brand and they can usually be found for cheap at costco.
cobraman Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 I have built two of them. Both were about 100 bucks. Did the drag Fiat first. Pretty much no instructions. It was a pain. The other other I just finished just a short time ago. This one was the 33 Willys. Metal main body was primed, the front clip was plastic. There were 2 engine choices and both were partially assembled. very little painting had to be done save the body. The windows in the doors were installed do I needed to drill out the rivets to remove the windows for painting. There were some instructions in this kit but they were mostly just some dark photos. You can find my Willys in the Under Glass section if interested. Good luck if you buy one, I know you could do a good job with one. Oh, they are available assembled but run more like 150 from what I have seen.
