Smart-Resins Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I found this in my parts box and I am unsure what it is. Is it a speed style flatty or is it a boat anchor ow what. LOL. Any help is appreciated, esp. if anyone has pics of a completed ione to help me out. Thanks. Jody
Darrell Gwinn Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Kind of looks like it would be set up for this... maybe
Smart-Resins Posted December 26, 2008 Author Posted December 26, 2008 Very interesting! The rear of my engine lookes like its not set up for a tranny? But, I can solve that. I was wondering about the front and you may have confirmed it. I am just unsure where the heck I got the ingine otherwise I might know better. LOL. Jody
The Creative Explorer Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Didn't the old ambulances/firetrucks has something on the front of the engines?
george 53 Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 I THINK that's the motor out of the AMT power boat re-issue.You know the one, from the early 60's, that was re-issued a few years back?It comes with a Ford(I think) V-8 and a Chris Craft straight six I THINK.Anyway, that's MY 2 cents.
Smart-Resins Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 That makes sense, now I know where it came from, my boat kit. LOL. So its not a flatty then?. Darn it all. LOL. Jody
RyanSilva Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 You can always turn it into a 337ci flat head truck engine
Aaronw Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 Didn't the old ambulances/firetrucks has something on the front of the engines? Some fire engines ran a pump off the front of the motor, these usually have a pump mounted on the front bumper. Many trucks run a power take off but these usually come off the transmission. The boat sounds more likely though.
