Find a large bowl, fill it with hot water, put the body in it so it is covered and let it sit for a minute or so. It will soften and you can take it out and gently twist it back into shape. Then let it cool and test fit. You may have to do it a couple of times. I have done this on several bodies. Some people also use a hair dryer but I think that is harder to control. Thanks! Have not tried but I don’t have te time to try at the moment. I did however make a custom front out of my custom 74 and 75. A bit lower and more aero friendly. 1

DoctorLarry Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Farthest north I've been is Lithuania. Went to a national park to stick our feet in the Baltic Sea-man was it cold! 1
Mattilacken Posted July 12 Author Posted July 12 Had to redo the rear end since it just broke al the time and the printed tubes had also been curved so wheels was wonky. Trying to make some thing that looks like more like a normal k link setup as these had but with the “9 housing. I was thinking that this one does actually fit this years cannonball run except for the hood maybe and valve covers. We will see how it turns out. 3
Mattilacken Posted Thursday at 09:50 AM Author Posted Thursday at 09:50 AM Some more progress, found a set of my resin BFG’s for the front tires and I started to build a Chevy bigblock for it. 1
redscampi Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'm following with interest! As you know I have a 4th gen El Camino and am currently changing the headlights from a 77 to a 74 look. I found that I also needed to purchase the headlight buckets (not sure what they're called but it's the part the headlight back sits in) I'm planning to reuse the adjuster screws but the little plastic clips they sit in went from square in 74 to rectangular in 77 for some obscure reason. I can't seem to find the square ones, so may need to modify the installation a tad. I also had to get some headlight retaining rings from Summit Racing. Hope that info helps you a bit with your full size car.

I didn’t buy the ’77 that I used to have 20 years ago( had rusted away and was in sooo bad shape overall so I felt that I should not buy it) it did though have the ’73 front at the moment which would have ment that it had the adjusters and all for round headlights. You could do a more modern upgrade on your lights, either the nice clear ones or led, saw one with led and it looked good. Should be able to buy them complete.
Mattilacken Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago I have done some work and shot some primer, and yes it was way to damp.. 55% but it’s gray at least. Might have a go during the day to morrow with a second coat.
