tuffone20 Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) I have these kits on hold for me and am wondering what they are worth? I'm going to buy them anyways for what the guy wants just because I want them and he is being kind to hold them for me plus a few other kits I didn't take a photo of. Thanks Edited January 2, 2009 by tuffone20
RodBurNeR Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 A kit is worth only what someone is willing to pay at the time it's offered for sale. I would guess to a collector, which I am NOT....they might be "worth" a couple hundred? I would only want a couple of them, because I would build them.
jeffb Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 they are worth absoilutly nuttin..so just send em here......i run a home for unwanted kits.....
mademan Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 depends....if you are gonna build em, or hold onto em. I have a stockpile of johan hearses and ambulances.... which I am building 1 by one. its making some collectors mad.... but I dont really care. I laugh at the people who pay $70+ for these kits, most I have no more than 25.00 or so into.... for a factory sealed kit

You know I knew someone would say that, and I'm buying them to build as that is what the kits were ment for. they are worth absoilutly nuttin..so just send em here......i run a home for unwanted kits..... Your so funny I can't get up off the floor from laughing so hard... had one more quote but board said I wasn't allowed to? I'm buying kits to build, well I'll hold them until it's time to build them! Like I said I was just wondering what they are worth, not that it really matters as I'm buying them anyways. Thanks for the input & Edited January 2, 2009 by tuffone20
Zoom Zoom Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 They're worth $2.88 apiece. That's what I paid for them back when Wally World sold 'em, and they were bought to be built
tuffone20 Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 Man I didn't think Wally World has been around that long
Zoom Zoom Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Man I didn't think Wally World has been around that long It was well over 20 years ago; mid to late 80's from my foggy memory when they carried Johan kits and sho cases. Johan kits were cheaper than AMT/MPC/Monogram/Revell stuff, back in the day. Back when Wal Mart stood for supporting American business and American made products...
RadRidesByDan Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Dont listen to these guys The average Jo-Han kit sells on E-Bay for an average price of approx. $60.00 to $70.00 each I have seen some kits go as high as $300 and some as low as $10 good luck
chris coller Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 RadRides is right. Dont listen to them even though one makes a good point. They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. JoHan kits arent the most easy to find. I am sure that causes buyers/collectors to shell out more money for them as well. As both a buyer/collector and builder I am kind of in the middle on this. Build as many of them as you can and enjoy!
tuffone20 Posted December 31, 2008 Author Posted December 31, 2008 (edited) Hey guys for all of the replies. I'm getting back into modeling to build models and not to just collect them. The guy I'm getting these kits from has more then one of these same kits as I'm just buying one of each of them he has and I'm also getting the turbine car kit he has. I don't really care what the cars are worth as they are wroth what I'm willing to pay for them and I think the price I'm paying is pretty fair and I don't have to have a bidding war to get them Anyways now all I need to do is stop posting on this site for awhile and start building some models! Ok I'm back.................. oh wait I never left Edited January 2, 2009 by tuffone20
James Flowers Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Tell us how much you are paying from them. So we can say you got a real deal or your crazy. HA!,HA!
tuffone20 Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Tell us how much you are paying from them. So we can say you got a real deal or your crazy. HA!,HA! OK I'll do that right after I buy the last kit I want
Rob Hall Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Actually, he was asking what they are 'wroth', not 'worth'. What they are wroth may be completely different than what they are worth.
