KelRob
Hi, Has anyone built a better front suspension for any of the Johan AMCs? Or part sources to build something like it. I usually build the chassis as they come in the kits or with slight modifications. So, I am trying something out of my comfort zone. I am building a 1964 Rambler 440H and using the chassis and driveline from the Sc/Rambler. The front suspension on the kit, if that is what you want to call it, looks like a flat styrene mess. MrObsessive
I'd take a very close look at any of the modern AMT Mustang kits, particularly the '67. They look an awful lot like AMC's trunion setup with the springs mounted in the upper part of the inner fenders. While it may not be bolt for bolt exact, it's pretty dang close. Here's underneath a '65 Mustang for example........the '67 kit would have the same setup. Hope this helps!
Oldcarfan27
Thanks for the pics, Bill. Info like that is good to have. With a name like Mr. Obsessive, I know you've got a lot of good information. By the way, is your wife named "Compulsive"?

ChrisBcritter
Hi Kelly! Similar setup is in the Jo-Han AMC Marlin kit, complete with steerable wheels; a bit tougher to find but keeps it in the family. They do get parted out on eBay now and then.
