GEORGE LEMIRE Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Would anybody have suggestions on air brushing with 50 degree F temp in my hobby room.I am spraying with Tamiya White surface primer which comes out fine and top coating with the Tamiya X-1 White Gloss i am finding it difficult to get a smooth finish with the top coat. I am worried about the air brushed Tamiya clear coat x-22 coming out grainy. As allways any help is appreciated.TY
NOBLNG Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 That is like 10 degrees Celsius, so on the cool side for sure. I haven’t personally painted in that cold, but it should be doable. Try to warm the paint and the model up before spraying. Maybe someone on here has experience painting in colder temps? If in doubt, do some tests to see the results.
Bainford Posted March 12, 2022 Posted March 12, 2022 If painting in cool temperatures, be sure to leave the body in the cool environment until the paint is cured. Or, warm it up (dehydrator, etc) before bringing it to a warm place, to avoid any problems with condensation. 1
