Okay guys, this is proof that I have been at the bench, not for many hours, let alone minutes but I have been. I might just have a little more time now that I left the part-time job I had for need of some rest, I was just not getting enough of it. This little feature is also to promote Norm's phenomenal resin parts. You guys know about Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland right??? Well, Norm is my father!!! :P:P Okay, okay, Norm doesn't look as Puerto Ricanish as I do and of course he is not my Pops but I can assure you that some of us that know him well would be proud to call him "Papa"!!

As mentioned before, I purchased the Model Car Garage Detail Set for the Starliner but the front grille in the set does not include the headlight bezels so Norm and Harold Bradford (my uncle  ) decided to make them in resin. I am even including the instructions so that you guys can see there is an order to follow when installing these, Harold and Norm really do their homework when it comes to designing these resin parts. I call them the 2 mini engineers, so if there are any modelers out there that don't have an idea how these parts work, after seeing this small tutorial, if you will, by the end you will be adding it to your next Starliner project, it really makes it stand out. By the way, Harold Bradford is the owner of Historic Racing Miniatures, his work is out of this world as some of you guys know. These were patterned by him.

Here is the Grille and buckets, like with any resin piece, a little bit of cleaning is in order but it is very minimal, the parts go very well together.

These are the instructions so, as you can see and read, there is definetly an order to follow, nothing out of this world but an order!!! ;)

As you can see, one side is thicker than the other which means that they have to all be installed in the same fashion....

If you study the kit's grille, you can use it to gauge your progress, it shows the manner in which the bezels are to be installed.

After cleaning my parts, I dry fitted them and they look very real, much better than the kit grille. I will be Alclading mine soon and will show more pictures of my progress with the front grille, I just thought I'd share this information with you guys in case you are in the market to make this kit really stand out!!!

Good to see you back at the bench again Marcos! I'm looking forward to seeing the photoetch work your doing on this.
Thanks Marshall but please, keep that tornado away from my bench, I don't want to loose any parts laying around!!!:D

Really nice work, Marcos! I love that color on the Starliner. Cursing in Spanish or English works quite well to relieve the stress of applying BMF; best to wait 'til the family's outa the house though.

Check this out guys, when I removed the model from the dissolver it maintained the shape of the body!!!Crazy, no?????:P:P

Hey man, this liitle tutorial on the grille is perfect, I just bought this kit and will definetly be using the system, I was just afraid to see if I could handle it but seeing how easy you make it look I will try it. Thanks for sharing and hope to see this thing completed soon. Is the address and phone number on the instruction sheet current?

Marcos, This is a sweet build you got going.

Beautiful, this car will be just beautiful.

I'm doing a 60 Starliner at this time as well though, more outta the box,

and not to this extent.

Keep up the marvelous work.

I was talking to my good friend and fellow club member Mike Dube about weathering the engine bay on some of my models, he tells me that they look more realistic specially on these types of builds. Mike really knows how to build some really sweet models. Well Mike, here's to you, I decided to go ahead and practice it since I have a bit of experience with pastels, didn't dare do it your way :lol: I even went as far as doing the chassis, okay okay, I got a little bit carried away but I think that you and the rest of the guys will like it, at least I hope. :D:rolleyes: I also took some photos of the partially but almost completed interior, it will be simple though so there's not much to see there.....

I'm with Bill on this one Cruz, the paint is just awesome. Looks like a lot of work on the P/E stuff also but it's a winner for sure. How much more to finish? Looks like it's all there to me

Thanks guys!! I still need to add a license plate and little details like the P/E door locks and other small things. I will have to wax it at the end again, it's a little "finger smudged"

Marcos,

I've got to go with everyone else on this build...that's definately a show winner!!

The colors, stance, rake and period correct details are all right on the money!!
