BubbaBrown Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Did Moebius ever come out with a B/FX comet ? If so I missed it. Where would one get the Weber's and intake manifold to try and make one ? Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.
afx Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 (edited) HRM offers an intake and Weber carbs. https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/collections/engine-parts/products/weber-carbs-manifold-kit-1-24th-scale They are 1/24 scale but I adapted them to the 1/25 scale 289 from the AMT '67 Mustang here. afx Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 (edited) Option #2 is to install the 1/24 scale 289 from the Revellogram Mustang kits into the Comet. The HRM parts would drop right onto this engine. I have successfully used this engine in several 1/25 scale builds - this AMT '66 Falcon B/FX is one example: Edited April 20, 2022 by afx
Plowboy Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 I would hit ebay and just buy the B/FX Comet. By the time you buy and scrounge the parts for the stock version, you'll probably be out the same amount. The B/FX has the 427 cammer and the other parts necessary to build it.
Mark Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 The Cyclone with the overhead cam engine is the A/FX car. The B/FX is pretty much the same except for the 289 engine. Moebius has not issued a B/FX version yet, but it was probably designed into the kit from the start.
