customline Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) I see these headlights frequently on 1:1 rods and I wonder if anyone can identify them. Are they factory items or aftermarket? Have they ever been kitted? Thanks for your interest. ? Edited May 17, 2022 by customline
Mr. Metallic Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 They are Guide (brand?) headlights. The last issue of the Revell (formerly Monogram tool) 30 Phaeton street rod kit had a pair. But that issue is getting scarce, wish they would reissue it. Replicas and Miniatures of Md also offers something similar
Muncie Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Guide headlights were original equipment on things like trucks and agricultural equipment. They were also sold aftermarket as individual lamps or kits to add or convert older vehicles to sealed beam lights. Reproductions are available in the hot rod world.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 (edited) Yup. And the ones pictured take standard 7" round sealed beam bulbs, or replacement 7" round halogen, LED, or HID units. Edited May 17, 2022 by Ace-Garageguy

The kit situation is , of course, bleak. The RMCM route looks like the way. Thanks all!
