unclescott58 Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate it with me. Happy 246 years to the good old U.S. of A. And what says more about America to cars guys, than good old American muscle cars? And the peak year (arguably) for America muscle cars? Of course 1969. July’s suggested theme for the next MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) meeting is “Red, White, and Blue. (That meeting by the way, is normally the second Wednesday of every month. This month it will be on July 13, 2022. At the Circle Pines, Anoka county library.) For years now I’ve had AMT/Ertl’s ‘69 Muscle Car SuperSet in collection waiting to be built. In the box? What they claim to be a ‘69 Ford Torino (Really just called just a Cobra by Ford. Torino was not part of its name for the 1969 model year.), a 69 Hurst Olds, and a ‘69 Plymouth Barracuda. The box shows the Cobra in red. The Hurst Olds of course in white. And the Barracuda in blue. Red, white, and blue! Perfect for our club theme! So, a few weeks ago I started building. And just today, on July 4th, I finished putting the final touches on the final car. The decals on the Hurst Olds. (Well, not truly finished. In the next few days I need to put Future floor polish on to protect the decals on the Hurst Olds.) i hope you enjoy my little tribute to America. And her glorious history (car wise any how).
