People who act out the worst of human nature, like sociopaths and psychopaths (ASPD), don't always have what most of the rest of us would think of as clear choices between 'right and wrong', so dealing with their actions in the legal system is complex because their argument is that their wiring is scrambled.

"Cap and ball" describes "cap-lock" scary bangy things that discharge a single spherical projectile with each operation.
