Revell Special Edition '49 Mercury Custom Coupe

I just picked up the Revell Special Edition '49 Mercury Custom Coupe today.  Does anybody know what the engine is?  I don't recognize it apart from being an OHV V8.

I've always understood it to be  early cadillac. It doesn't say anywhere on the box or instruction what it is.

Yup, Cadillac 1955-'62, 331-365-390 all externally pretty much the same.
