Hung out mostly with the roadies, it was a lot of fun for a 23yo 1

Mike C. Posted September 1, 2022 Author Posted September 1, 2022 Ahh. They were a great band. A friend of mine was sitting in on drums with them recently. Might still be for all I know. 4 minutes ago, Badluck 13 said: The Church "Reptile" 1

I found out about them in college. My roommate was really into music and found out our art teacher was Bob Stinson's ex wife. So they had a long conversation about their music and I was along for the ride. That same roommate (who is now one of my best friends) and I just saw Rammstein this past weekend and that group puts on an amazing live show. 1

One of my best friends talks to Tommy and Peter Jespersen all the time on social media. Him and his cousin were in a Philly band called Marah, when they were in L.A. while touring in North America, Jesperson had them over for dinner. Here is a video of them when they were on Conan O'Brian back in 2000. My friend Joe is on bass and my friend Mick (his cousin) is on the kit. Edited September 2, 2022 by Mike C.
1972coronet Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Great live version of All By Myself [written by Walter Lure] by Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers (sans Jerry Nolan) from GBGB's, 1983.
Badluck 13 Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Short lived band "Swamp Angel" featuring in my opinion one of the best bassist and vocals, R.A. MacLean (from Deadbolt, Flak Bait)..... "Voodoo Doll"
1972coronet Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 I'm no musician - I have no abilities whatsoever - but this seems like an impossible-to-perform-live song due to its studio manipulation. I wish that Marty Stuart and his band could've played this back in April, but I understand the limitations of a four piece band (of immense talent). None-the-less, here's a sweet live version from a few years ago, as performed with Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman, Marty Stuart, and company.

After attending 70 or 80 concerts in my life, I do believe that nothing will ever compare to what I witnessed Wednesday night. Rammstein is definitely a tough act to follow. I’m still upset that I couldn’t get a tour shirt though. The lines were ridiculous. Tried the line three times, but I didn’t want to miss the performance. Then at the end of the show the shirts were all sold out! Never had difficulty getting a shirt before. I guess that’s what happens when a band doesn’t tour the U.S. often. I’d go see them again today if I could. Edited September 3, 2022 by Brutalform
