TarheelRick Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 While digging through my stash of tires I came across this set of drag slicks. Not a very good picture, but the best my old Samsung phone could come up with. Anyway, one side says, "Goodyear Blue Streak" the other side says, "Firestone Drag 500". I know they were from some 60's kit but have no idea which one. Anybody remember these?

Mark Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 They are definitely Jo-Han. If they are one-piece, they are "early" production but not the earliest (earliest were Goodyear on both sides). The one-piece version would have come in the Sox & Martin '71 Barracuda, Don Nicholson Maverick, and Eddie Schartman Comet Pro Stock kits. The 1:1 Firestone Drag 500 slicks and front tires first appeared in 1970.
TarheelRick Posted September 4, 2022 Author Posted September 4, 2022 I never had very many Jo-Han kits in the 60's. Only two I can remember are the '64 Dodge SS car of Hodges Dodges which had a beautiful set of Cheater slicks (still have them) and the '65 Plymouth Fury II (III) with Sox & Martin decals. 19 hours ago, Mark said: They are definitely Jo-Han. Leica007 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Could you post some pics of the tread on those cheater slicks? Would really like to see so I could make some for future street rods. Thanks.
Shark Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Don't know if they still are, but MCW was casting them along with the fronts
