David Thibodeau Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Again a detailed build using the new Scale motorsport Super FXX Carbon upgrade kit. Well worth the effort.... I decided to leave the wheels off to display the gorgeous brakes....... Scratchbuilt and added items: Lap counter on dash, Pro tech braided line and fittings, Removed rear window molded in vents and replaced with black mesh.
David Thibodeau Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Few more pictures..... Thanks for looking... DaveT
Mike Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Absolutely beautiful Dave. I could only dream of seeing this in person.
Raul_Perez Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 This was an awesome build to watch!! Thanks for sharing!! As good as the pictures are, I suspect that they don't do this build adequate justice. Amazing!! Later,
DR Dubois Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Absolutely incredible build! Thanx for letting us follow along.
Bryce Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Absolutely amazing workmanship – simply a breathtaking build!
ismaelg Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 ehhh, mmmhhh, ahhhhhh, oooohhh! WOW! Gee, Thanks Dave! Another subject I'll never attempt after seeing yours. Thanks,
Peter Lombardo Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Just beautiful.....perfection in scale. A gentleman in the town where my business is has an Enzo (just a boring regular red one, yeah right, boring!). The sound that it makes as it goes by is almost as impressive as the sight ( I see it maybe 3 times in the spring and summer as he does not drive it very much ). These vehicles are truly stunning and your build does the car justice. The carbon fiber decal installation is "spot on"....It is your usual "surgically perfect" build.....Very impressive.
RadRidesByDan Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Im speechless on this masterpiece WOW!!!!! I have a hard time putting on simple decals and here sits this beautiful carbon fiber car.....Do you use any special products to apply the decals and do you try to put the decals on in as many large pieces as possible or is it easier to put smaller pieces and try to match the seams?
Seattle Mike Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Awesome job Dave! I'm looking forward to meeting you at Sexton's in April.
crispy Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I have to echo all the comments here. To actually see the build in the flesh would be absolutely amazing. David, absolutely stunning build. Chris
cruz Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 This is really cool work, phenomenal craftsmanship, decals came out awesome, definetly not for the faint of heart!!!
Rich Cummings Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 Simply amazing as all your builds are. I'm in awe every time I see a new project from you.
David Thibodeau Posted January 30, 2009 Author Posted January 30, 2009 Awesome job Dave! I'm looking forward to meeting you at Sexton's in April. As well as you Mike! Its gonna be a blast!! Wow guys Thanks for the replies!!! Izzy..... match it now and do an all carbon Vette!!!! DaveT
Mike1357 Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 I'm absolutely speechless. This car is absolutely amazing and as a huge fan of the CF look I give you another compliment. To obtain that level of detail with decals is mastery of the art. WONDERFUL piece of work.
Bernard Kron Posted January 31, 2009 Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Stunning! Is it the effect of Carbon Fiber which makes this come off as one of your best builds ever? In any case, it's a masterpiece! Edited January 31, 2009 by gbk1

Thanks again guys... this one will show up as a full build in MC sooner or later as well! DaveT

But unfortunately we dont have anyone that I know here to get MCM model car magazines in Alberta. Ive looked everywhere and the closest places that i can get my hands on it is in Vancouver BC, ...or Regina Saskatchewan.....and either way Im not going to drive 8 to 12 hours up and 8 to 12 hours back for a $14.00 magazine. I have a modeller friend that has answered most of my questions on another site. Dan Edited February 2, 2009 by RadRidesByDan
