Brian Austin Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 If you email a model company with a complaint, I don't think an angry tone would help you.

Anymore angry is default. Sigh. Thank the nice people in your lives. That said, a noob getting one of these kits wouldn’t buy another from the brand. ??♂️??

Tread areas aren't the best due to mold design considerations, but sidewall detail is sometimes better than typical vinyl or rubber tires. I saw the decal sheet for this Camaro kit the other day...no decals for tire lettering that I could see. Decals for everything else, just nothing for the tires. One silver lining is that this kit is now molded in white, so just sand or scrape the paint off the lettering after spraying the tires black. Couldn't do that on the original issue, which was molded in black.
OldNYJim Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Also in Revell’s defense, somewhat - they have listed the parts count on their boxes for 20+ years now AND usually had photos of a built-up on the box too: Not like they’re hiding the fact that it’s a low-parts-count build just because they have the ‘nerve’ to put it in a box with nice art. I don’t disagree that it doesn’t seem like the best kit ever; but I’m another one who doesn’t mind the plastic tires. Like said already in this thread, well painted plastic tires almost always look better than vinyl ones anyway to me

The facts speak for themselves They put a Snap Kit in a full build box and charged full price. I think I need to send an anergy tone email to Revell. Who knows if they will even read it or respond? I will let everyone what happens. Thans Mike

But from now I will check.
keyser Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Just take it back, or sell it. Not worth aggravation, trust me. Give it to a kid that won’t care. Kens/Karen’s waste their time. life is too short. (No, you’re not a Karen, it’s valid complaint. But nothing changes it. Sry.)

Retiring and turning 70 this year I am an official Crotchety Old Man with plenty of spare time.? Isn't a male Karen a Go Brandon Go?? Thanks Mike 2
1972coronet Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Even Chris (HPI Guy et al.) was 'surprised' to find it's a snap kit. $30+ for that ancient kit is twice as much as it "should" cost. Sure, if it were a glue kit or at least had higher parts count/more detail, it may be worth that price, but it's neither. Chris made an imitation silk purse from that sow's ear of a kit, but even then... typical Revell windscreen & backlight for that era, where the connecting 'runner' overlaps-onto the top edge of the windscreen and backlight -- no bueno! I say, send Revell a Get Off My Lawn email.
Dpate Posted November 6, 2022 Posted November 6, 2022 Maybe someone will get one that'll have enough flash to parts ratio to warrant the price lol 1
