Thank you, David! Even though I am a tad young to have caught these kits, originally, the early Monogram car kits have come to be some of my favorites. It becomes obvious, when one sees the contents of my display case!?

The Monogram Indy car I built way back when was the Kraft car, which was creamish/yellow with red #9, aluminum colored wheels. There are a few at ebay right now actually. Same molds as yours probably.

I wish they would just stop making kits in colored plastic to begin with.  Grey & black no prob, but yellow, blue etc is dumb.  Just save money and make every kit white plastic or cream like moebius.  They should know there market isn't no 14+ kids out here buying these expensive kits and just give adults white clean flash free plastic, but that's only a dream though and not a reality sadly.

I opened a new AMT 53 Ford ( coca cola version) pickup kit a couple of weeks ago molded in white, except the rear quarter or so of the bed is yellow ! Now that's a first for me in more than 60 years of building models.

All I can think of is they must have run yellow prior and a shot got in the works as the white got going.  It's not a real strong yellow but it's there. Stynylrez will block it but the color will be red anyway, it's not as though I'm shooting it white. And at this point I'm planning on acrylic red. I'll decide in the next week if I'm going with acrylic or enamel but I doubt it will matter much.

Undoubtedly it's the same molds.? I'm not sure what color the newer releases are. Mine came from a double-kit boxing Monogram did back in the late '80s-early '90s. It was the Kurtis Kraft Indy car and the Don Edmonds Supermodified. Finally, last year, I completed the Supermod, so both have made it to the display case after 30 years, or so!

Well congrats on getting them both done !!
