Len Woodruff Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Has anyone done a photo etch cowl? How did you install it? On my body I have cut the hole the size of the pot etch piece. I need it to be even with the surface of the cowl. Suggestions? Here is a pic.
NOBLNG Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I have not done this particular operation. I did make a scraper tool for insetting the windows on this ‘36 ford that might work?
Len Woodruff Posted January 6, 2023 Author Posted January 6, 2023 Thanks Greg. That is a great idea for the windows. Unfortuantely I already cut the hole the size of the Photo Etch piece. What I was thinking was to glue some plastic around the underside of thee PE piece and glue it in so it is flat to the surface.
jaymcminn Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I'd glue thin styrene strip around the edges of the hole, inset by the thickness of the part, to create a shelf for the part to attach to.

I agee. That seems to be the best choice. The question is how to make the lip so the PE piece is flat across the cowl.
