I have the 512 longtail Ferrari myself from him. They are very good kits to be so simple. Thanks for sharing. Danny
fordh8r Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I can see why those decals would be a challenge. Looks like you got them to stay in all the right places though. Nice build. I like the look of this one.

I like the look of this one. Lots of Solvaset, Decal Fit and Mr. Softener...then clear-coating asap to keep them down thanx
Crazy Ed Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Curt Nice Clean job. Looks like you're ready for the 917 "Pink Pig" kit Ed Erbeck Jr.
curt raitz Posted February 7, 2009 Author Posted February 7, 2009 Curt Nice Clean job. Looks like you're ready for the 917 "Pink Pig" kit Ed Erbeck Jr. Thanx, but no thanx did the 'Pink Pig' in 43rd scale and went bonkers with that...in 24th scale the 'Pink Pig' is HUGE!
Nick F40 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Wow, this is incredible, such a sweet looking car which probably the best paint scheme. I always liked the wheels. You use softener? I heard just to use the set.
Andy Wyatt Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Do they sell Solvaset in a 5 gallon bucket? Awesome job.
Modelmartin Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I share your pain!! I also built this kit. If I were to do it again I would mask and spray the dark blue and then cut out and lay down the red and light blue stripe decals. Oh well! That's how we learn.
MonoPed Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Very nice build! Hopefully the weather will warm up a tad and the humidity will stay low this week so I can shoot clear on the Fisher Ferrari 512s and get it done...

You use softener? I heard just to use the set. Nick I will start with 'micro scale set', probably the weakest setting solution on the market...if not getting the results I want, I'll move to stronger setting solutions, i.e. Solvaset, Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Softener and finally Modelers Decal Fit Decal Fit will even knock down the old crummy Monogram/Revell decals...problem being is it's no longer available. thanx Edited February 7, 2009 by curt raitz
