Oldmopars Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 I ran across this truck in Paul Idaho. I like it and think it would be a cool build and maybe a possible 3D print.
Little Timmy Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Looks like the emblem on the door says Ford 4000.
Oldmopars Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) After a lot of guessing and searching, I found that it is a W series. About 1968-69? By 1974 they got a new grill. The truck above may be a WT1000? The Blue Mule was a WT, but after 1974. Edited January 16, 2023 by Oldmopars
RSchnell Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 I'm pretty sure that's a mid to late 60's Ford W series truck. The capacity dictated the series, 900, 1000, etc. Back in my heavy truck export days, I remember seeing a few of these in a junkyard. They are uncommon!

Day cab already available in kit form ....... if ya don't mind that it is 1/87 scale and a bit more primitive that what the box illustration shows. (dump body might also be available in the same scale for model railroad builders)
Oldmopars Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 So, my plan was to create the cab in 3D software to be printed. As it is a simple very square design, I figured it would be a good cab to attempt this with. I have designed many things, but have not done a cab or body.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 17, 2023 Posted January 17, 2023 Repstock on this forum has done a beautiful job of scratch building this cab. I had hoped that he would cast it. You may be able to get measurements from him.

I have a lot of respect for that kind of work. Me, I figured out how to do it a different way. I said I was going to model it, I am getting closer. 1
James Maynard Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I've got one. Possibly the only one that exists.
