Leica007 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Looking for tips, advice, pics on lowering front I-beam suspension on Ford van kit. It's the AMT Coke van kit and the mock up has the rear end lower than the front and the rear is a good height, so I need to lower the front. Only need to lower about 2-5 mm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
Fat Brian Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Shortening the front coil springs will lower the front but you might hit a point where you need to bend the axle pins horizontal again. The tires will start to turn in at the top eventually.
Leica007 Posted January 26, 2023 Author Posted January 26, 2023 Thanks for response. Using your tip, I only removed one coil, but expanded the hole in the support; it lowered an additional 1mm without shifting the axle pin too much. I had to file the frame a bit o n each arm to allow for the change in height. Looks like it will work out well. Appreciate the help.

Great, I seriously believe that this front end and how hard it is to lower it is why we don't see many Ford trucks customized compared to Chevies.
