ModWrench Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Here is my take on a '27 Ford Tub built to The Race Of Gentlemen (TROG) specs. Went with a Frontenac 4 cylinder, scratch built front shocks and spindles, used a set of Ron Coons Resin front tires and wheels, and slapped on a pair of M&H Racemaster slicks for the Flabob drag runs. This was primarily a test mule for weathering, as this is my first attempt at adding a "patina" and race-worn look to a hot rod. I experimented with some different techniques and think it came out OK, made some notes on what to try on future builds. Posting a few different pics in the TROG thread of the Community Build section too. 5
ModWrench Posted February 5, 2023 Author Posted February 5, 2023 Thanks Joe! Fun little build, and have a few more ideas for additional TROG cars knocking around in my head.
ModWrench Posted February 7, 2023 Author Posted February 7, 2023 Thanks Carl and Charles, appreciate the feedback!
misterNNL Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 One suggestion. Those slicks would be pretty useless on the sand. You should probably throw some traded ones in for running on the beach.

The community build I created this car for is using the rules for the California TROG where the cars run 1/8 mile drags on an old pavement airfield, hence the switch to slicks.

Pierre Rivard Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 The weathering is very very nice. Sun beaten and sand blasted to perfection. Well done!
Kenmojr Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Superb weathering effects on this very pleasing model.
