How do we save it? Yeah.. we have the plastic companies still pulling through, even if it's minimal. We all have so much stuff to build it's ridiculous in most cases. Many of us can't afford to buy new kits coming out..just yet. I know many of us, including myself are looking into moving and downsizing to save money. Times are tough, no doubt!

On the other side of the coin, we have friends and small business owners who care about this hobby and try to provide a nice line of desirables so they can turn a buck to make a living and also because they like to see their stuff built....it's a pride thing.

Yep, we all know there are guys selling stuff for high prices....either they don't care about the hobby or they are doing it to try and stay alive in this mess.

I am standing on my soap box and believe me it's pretty much covered in dust as I don't use it often.

We know all of the facts above. Clearly there are more important things to pay for than models, but we HAVE to do something to help our friends stay afloat who have spent countless hours in making the items we can purchase.

These times have hit one of our own members "Drag City Casting" in the shorts where it counts! I will not go into many tearful descriptions for you..

This is not a guilt trip.

I just get tired of seeing guys like Ed Fluck go out of business. Ed is a good person. He has always been fair, fast and honest..even more than generous with all who have purchased from him. He is not one of the guys that you read about on other boards with complaints like "theif or takes too long".....he is one of the best in quality and customer service.

I am campaigning here folks! If we don't help Ed, he is going to close up and all of which he offers and is in the makes of offering will be severed from us. Not only will the resin be gone, but a part of this hobby goes with it.

What will REALLY bug me? If he closes up, the word will spread around and everyone will be saying how sorry they are to hear it and wish they could have done something......NOW IS THE TIME....before it gets that far!

Ed didn't ask me to do this. I talk to him often and know much more than I am telling you. I just can't sit here and not try to help. The best I can do to help his business is in the works. Now I leave it up to you to check his web site and see if there is anything you would like to have. I will stand by his product. I have had peices from almost all the casters and his is definately one of the top 3 for quality and he is FAST shipping!

PS...I know that many of us could use a boost right now, so just take this post for what it is. thanks

That's the spirit!

I have not finished any of this yet :D

But I am serious when I say it's tops and soo nice!

I had one of his '62 Galaxie's but I too was in need and pawned it off. I am going to get another one though!

I also have his Willys pickup kit and it's not getting built until I have time to full detail because it's worth it!

I have several of his hoods and some other parts that he cast from his dad's molds. (was lucky to get)

Never waiting more than 3-4 days to get my stuff either. ;)

Ist is sad news! I have recently become unemployed and I am fighting to try to do some casting just to get some cash. Its not easy. If I could help I would. though many frown upon a resin caster buying another resin casters stuff. Theres always talk and rumor wether its true or false. Anyways. I certainly hopes if he can not continue on as a full time caster that he at least can decide to stay at it part time for extra cash here and there and to keep the product available to us. Jody

Have you had this problem? Sorry I am not sure what you meant. I know that Ed has never done that.

awbcrazy, I have not gotten anything from another caster to copy if that is what you are asking. However, I had started out building 1/8 scale models. I had became a member of a group and was a member for some time there. I turned from 1/8 to 1/16 models. Eventually I had a wim to try to do a 1/16 scale boat, wich is still slowly on the works. Anyways I had been ridiculed about my process of that and I had been tempered into a hot discussion on it. Due to this, the person who owned the other site, decided to ban me as we had started to not get along anyways. I had been threatened that if I tried to make a fuss over it, I would pay. Well I certainly had no intentions of fussing over it as I had no use of the site. LOL. However I still hear rumors and get emeils forwarded to me where poeple talk about me and try to spread rumors of me trying to copy others resin mostly in large scale. Wich is all fine and dandy, because I read others issues as well and know that it is a dog eat dog world in the world of resin and either you argue it and get a bad name, or you do what you do and let your work speak the truth. That is what I intend to do and have done for the year. I dont try to make alot of money and I certainly dont sell much or produce much. I dont do 1/8 so they can acuse me of copying 1/8 and others will merly shrug it off since I dont do that scale. Also, as for 1/16, I have gotten out of it too and I am into 1/25 scale. So anyways, I hope I answered your question? Thanks. Jody

I just went to his website and there are no links to anything. I wouldn't mind buying some more hoods from Ed but if I can't get to them...

Marc

I've bought mine from him on ebay...he usually has many hoods as Buy It Now items.

I did my part by purchasing the only Mopar hood he had listed. I'm strongly considering going back for the Pontiac Ventura conversion kit. Good stuff.

Great work guys! I know he appreciates the orders. Not just because we are friends, but because it's the truth..... Not many will email you when the payment arrives or when the order is in the mail. It's all done in just a few days of receiving payment. I just ordered some stuff after begging my wife haha!

'62 Galaxie body

door handles, window cranks and arm rests

61 sunliner uptop

I know from past experience, the product will be nice. :)

Crispy is right, Ed has been selling or at least listing a lot of stuff on emodelcars, don't be scared!
