I'm considering offering smoothed engine bay kits for the non revell vw golfs. They would be engine, gearbox and the metal work for the bay and I'm working on radiator and upper front panel detail for mk1 thru 4 golfs. The engines I can do so far are the r32 v6 in multi parts, and in one piece i have the 16v, 2 versions of the vr6 and a 1.8t. I'm also thinking about some kits but done as a what i would call curbside plus by which i mean they incluce engine bays and full interiors but there is no chassis detail. I'm working on a vw saveiro g6 just now that will be built this way and i might do an audi a5 next. Are there any vw group cars you would like to see? For example if i did a type 3 body with a dash and chassis to take tamiya bug parts for the rest, would it be wanted? Is there something you'd rather see? If its already available i wont be doing it. Everything i do would be 1/24 scale to suit the majority of the kits available currently

I am building a mk3 GTI and I want to detail it out. The kit is the Golf III CL/GL from Fujimi.

I have a VR6 engine, but I would love to get a mk3 engine bay. And I am still trying to hunt down a transmission for this VR6.

I am striking out on the transmission, so I am probably going to create my own file and get a friend to try printing it for me.

I am also in the process of converting it to a 3 door hatch instead of a 5 door.  Nobody makes a 3 door mk3 kit so I have to do it myself.

i do cleaned style engine bays for the mk1, 2 and 3 is on its way once i finish the front panel to suit it. I have gearboxes too and various mirrors, steering wheels and other parts. I also have jetta bodies for all 3 in 2 and 4 doors and I'm working on some aircooled stuff

Please reach out to me once you have something designed and printed.

Specifically I am looking for a VR6 transmission and a mk3 engine bay first.  But I will be building other Volkswagens, so I will probably also eventually want a 16V on throttle bodies, and a mk2 engine bay.

OH!  The door panels on the mk3 model from Fujimi are BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH as well. I was going to make my own, but if you are willing to explore that as well. There might be a market. The mk3 kit from Fujimi lacks all door panel detail. The dash and seats are fine, but the door panels are just flat.

for the 16v try modelbuilderswarehouse  https://www.modelbuilderswh.com/ and look for the clearly scale engines. they are very nice and they have the last of them. I already have the gearbox. There is a resin 3 door available on ebay, i have one and it use the fujimi guts. The engine bay I'm doing wont have any of the firewall detail as i like the bare bays more than loads of old coke bottles filling the space. this is the style i am going for

And thanks for the link.

It is kind of pricey, but I bought one VW engine for the engine in a future build. And I bought a second one because it has a transmission on it. I can cut it off and use it on my current build.  haha
