70s GM engine colors

Building a mid 70s Chevy truck and were those engines painted a light blue,been many years since I last seen one.

Yes.

I believe that Testors ModelMaster had a GM engine blue color, don't think its still available but it was close to a light blue color.

In their small enamel bottle line (1/4 oz jars) they have three blues that are close:

 

1108 Gloss Light Blue

1162 Flat Sky Blue

1110 Gloss Blue

Which engines were blue?  I thought they were Chevy Orange, or was that just the V8?

77-82 corporate blue, post 82 black was used and prior to 77 Chevy engine orange excluding the early 265’s that were red or yellow.

I thought the blue came earlier then 77 so I could get by with orange since I think the kit is really based on a truck earlier the 77.
