Mj-Styro Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Here's a few in-progress shots. Second stage of putty Decided to open the doors on this project.... Building this to replicate my 1:1, been on the mind for some time now and decided it was time to start it.......
Mj-Styro Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Finally after a third coat of primer and two block sandings i happy with how it looks now.........waiting on some pieces to show up so i can get started on the interior, thats gona take some time......... The bumps you see is water droplets had just got done washing the body......

RodneyBad Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Quit the Bondo Job. Paid off well too. Wheels and tires look like a perfect fit. Good looking Blazer.

I've been looking for an 80's chevy kit. Thanks! This started out as a GMC but you should be able to find a Sod buster pickup around, or the 79 both from MPC and both 4x4s..... Here's a pic of the 1:1 of mine
Rob Hall Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Cool...I've thought about doing an '84 Jimmy by kitbashing a spare '84 GMC 4x4 pickup w/ a spare '76 Blazer..
Mj-Styro Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 Got some color on the body last night late, then this morning i shoot the doors and tailgate.........
billywilly92 Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Is that black? It kinda looks like a really dark dark red or brown in some photos. I think it might just be reflections though.
Mj-Styro Posted February 20, 2009 Author Posted February 20, 2009 I should have added it was gloss black............sorry for leaving that part out
billywilly92 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I should have added it was gloss black............sorry for leaving that part out Thats what I thought it was, but some of the reflections in it made it look red or brown. But it looks good black.
James Flowers Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 (edited) Nice work so far. That is some shiny black paint. Looks like your not building your truck exactly. Are you going to put the window trim around the rear widows? Keep up the the good work. Edited February 21, 2009 by mustanglover1951

Mj-Styro Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 The top grill is a 1984 GMC one i modified to replicate a 1986 Chevrolet grill.....didn't care for the alum look so i BMF'ed it..... Still along ways to go yet...........
billywilly92 Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 The new grille looks just like the one on your 1:1.
Mj-Styro Posted February 25, 2009 Author Posted February 25, 2009 Have the interior installed, carpeted the back (hard to get a pic of right now) need to do some touch up painting yet thru out.........plus some detail painting under the hood......... Filled the front bumpers turn signals still need to sand them, Did a trade a week ago and waiting on a unbuilt kit to come in cause i need the exhaust off of it.........(thinkt he post office lost it tho) so i may need to locate another one, or just scratch build the exhaust.......Still need to make drive shafts for it. Locate two sqaure headlights, and detail paint the turn signals and side marker lights........... The hood still needs to be water sanded to smooth it out some more......... Next will be the hard part i will be making the topper side window trim from scratch so this will take some time.............
