David G. Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 That's a good looking color Jeremy. It looks like the paint went on well for you too. David G.

Much appreciated.. It did lay down well. And now we have clear This is my first time using Tamiya Clear, as I've been using Wet Look ever since I've been back in the hobby. I decided to experiment with this one... pretty sweet. I don't know which I like better... 2

AMT68 Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Paint color and clear is looking beautiful. Are you applying the Tamiya clear in light or heavier coats? Just curious because I've had the best success with Tamiya clear applying it in light coats over Tamiya TS paints. I have a couple of these kits and following this topic am definitely looking forward to building them.
KWT Posted May 28, 2023 Author Posted May 28, 2023 I spray clear and color the same... light mist coats, the gradual heavier mist coats each time... and after the many coats and I fully coverage it's a WET one 1
David G. Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 It looks good Jeremy. I've been happy with Tamiya clear. Not surprisingly it works very well over other Tamiya paints but I also use a lot of Dupli-Color and have had Tamiya react badly with it on occasion. If you use Tamiya clear over anything but Tamiya paint, do a spoon test first. David G. 1 1

I've used wet look over lots of different paints, but I've always heard Tamiya is too hot for most... that's one of the reasons I've steered clear for so long.
